COVID-19 Creates Challenges for MBU’s Field Experience Students

COVID-19 Creates Challenges for MBU’s Field Experience Students

After prematurely closing in spring 2020, schools were back in session in the fall, but many were missing a familiar component of classrooms: student teachers and observers. As individual school districts decide whether or not to allow outside individuals into their buildings, the MBU School of Education is working through the challenges coronavirus has presented to their students to give them the in-person experience they need.

MBU Women’s Basketball Slam Dunks Successful Season

After a long string of tough seasons that didn’t end how the Spartans wanted, the MBU women’s basketball team achieved heights of success it hasn’t experienced in over 10 years and broke recorded program history as the threat of COVID-19 loomed ominously over the year. Album Review: Bruce Springsteen – ‘Letter to You’

Album Review: Bruce Springsteen – ‘Letter to You’

Bruce Springsteen’s 20th studio album, “Letter to You,” saw the return of the E Street Band for the first time since 2014’s “High Hopes.” Despite bearing so many similarities to his previous and most famous work, revisiting familiar styles and ideas after such a long time seems to have given Springsteen a new perspective and way to tell the stories of blue-collar Americans. This piece was written for Sound Words STL, a music magazine-style site that examines the national (and sometimes international) music world from a St. Louis perspective.

Listening to the Lord, Leading by Example

Listening to the Lord, Leading by Example

When Ethan Metzler graduated in spring 2019, he believed his time at MBU was over. However, when the position of resident director at Pillsbury-Huff Residence Hall became available, he felt the Lord call him to lead the building of the young men he was a peer of the semester before. Regardless of the position change, Metzler continues to deeply and meaningfully connect with everyone he is around at MBU, pointing to Christ through his actions.
